Residents have access to psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management, individual therapy, and clinical consultation through our in-house team of behavioral health providers led by our psychiatrists. These services are highly individualized and delivered with flexibility in both setting and style. Our therapists use evidence-based modalities that are developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. These approaches are particularly well-suited to residents who are navigating emotional dysregulation, self-harm, substance use, and the aftermath of institutionalization. Clinicians help residents build emotional regulation skills, reframe internalized stigma, and address the social and relational disruptions that often follow psychiatric crises or justice involvement.
In addition to scheduled therapy and medication management appointments, our clinical team is available for same-day consults and urgent support during and outside of business hours, offering crisis assessments and coordinating short-term stabilization options while working to avoid unnecessary hospitalization. And our psychiatric services are not siloed but coordinated closely with Case Managers and Peer Counselors to ensure that care is holistic, culturally responsive, and grounded in the resident’s lived experience.
