Our Story

Tropez Health was founded in 2024 to address the intersection of homelessness, mental illness, and substance use through an integrated, evidence-based model. Recognizing the urgent need for solutions that integrate specialized housing and behavioral healthcare, our leadership—psychiatrists, social workers, and housing experts—developed a sustainable, housing-first approach for individuals facing complex challenges. By prioritizing stability, harm reduction, and long-term recovery, we work to break cycles of homelessness and recidivism while reducing reliance on emergency services, law enforcement, and hospitalizations.

Led by Dr. Brian Fuchs, MD, MPH, MBA—a crisis psychiatrist, Harvard Medical School graduate, and former McKinsey consultant—our team brings deep expertise in mental health and substance treatment, acute care services, community-based care, and re-entry coordination. Dr. Fuchs’ leadership includes overseeing psychiatric services at the women’s jail on Rikers Island, informing our approach to comprehensive, trauma-informed support for vulnerable populations.

Supportive Services Framework

24/7 Support Structure

Continuous behavioral health coverage, including 24/7 access to board-certified psychiatrists for virtual or in-person evaluations, ensures residents receive timely support whenever needed. Recognizing that psychiatric needs extend beyond conventional hours, our model provides immediate, high-quality care at any time, reducing reliance on emergency services and fostering long-term stability.

Resident-Centered Support

Empowering residents through a strengths-based, culturally competent approach. Our commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural competency is integral to our service delivery, incorporating practices such as Person-Centered Planning and Trauma-Informed Case Management. We also emphasize holistic well-being through initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles, including tobacco cessation, daily group supermarket trips, nutritious cooking programs, and group exercise, supported by on-site amenities

Therapy and Counseling

Integrating evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Residents benefit from individual and group sessions that build resilience, develop life skills, strengthen financial literacy, support vocational training, and promote reintegration. Peer therapy fosters shared healing, while family workshops, art and music therapy, and pet therapy provide alternative coping mechanisms.
